In this year’s series of Big Brother, producers have set out to spook the housemates.

From maggoty tasks worthy of I’m A Celeb, to making them spend a night in complete darkness, the Channel 5 show has been relentless.

However their efforts have left one contestant convinced that the house is haunted by Jade Goody’s ghost.

Pushing the boundaries of good taste, Big Brother sent in a female ghost to unnerve the housemates.

And Jack McDermott, known as ‘pie face’, shrieked: “It’s Jade. She’s back.”

A Big Brother source told the Daily Star: "The group were expecting old faces from the past but some thought we'd actually got someone back from the grave."

The moment may have been amusing to some, but others have slammed it as ‘inappropriate’ and ‘disrespectful’ to Jade Goody’s family.

Jade tragically passed away from cervical cancer at the age of 27 in 2009, leaving behind her two young sons, Bobby and Freddie.

Earlier this year, their father Jeff Brazier explained that young Freddie believes he has been visited by the ghost of his mother.

Speaking on This Morning, he said: "My personal experiences have left me open-minded about the paranormal.

"Two days ago was probably the scariest experience of my life because Freddie had a case of night terrors... and he often says to me that he sees his mum in his room as well, so that all made for a pretty awkward night's sleep."
