Amanda Holden, 43, is reportedly set to cover for Holly Willoughby on This Morning while she is away on maternity leave.

The mum-of-two will co-host the daytime show from September alongside Phillip Schofield.

A source told The Mirror that the Britain's Got Talent star was “thrilled and excited” by her new role.

They added: “Amanda is a great fit for the This Morning audience.

"Her warmth, charisma and down-to-earth attitude mean viewers relate to her.”

Phillip Schofield tweeted that he can't wait to work with Amanda - but added that Christine Bleakley, who is his co-host on Dancing On Ice, will be taking over when Britain's Got Talent kicks off in the spring time.

Holly, 33, always takes the summer off and will go on maternity leave with her third child from September, taking a break of up to a year.
