Abbey Clancy on new Strictly contestants: “I want them all to be cr*p”

Current Strictly Come Dancing champion Abbey Clancy has made it very clear she's not ready to hand over the glitter ball just yet.

Abbey, 28, waltzed her way to victory last year with partner Aljaz Skorjanec, and she joked that she hopes the new batch of dancers aren't as good to her.

During an appearance on Chatty Man, she said: "I am jealous. I want them all to be cr*p!"

Model Abbey, who is married to footballer Peter Crouch, and Aljaz danced last weekend during the launch of the new series.

She admitted it was tough realising she wasn't going to be returning the next day, saying: "It was weird to be back dancing with Aljaz on the launch show.

"It felt as if I was back on the show. But the show runners kept telling me that my car was there. They wanted me to go home, but I wanted to stay!"

Abbey also touched upon the likelihood of any romances between the celebrities and dancers this year.

She said: "It's a weird experience. It is really intense and you get caught up in this Strictly bubble and it is not real.

"Everyone makes out things happen because everybody is so passionate and they look into each other's eyes. There might be a few romances this year as Thom [Evans] is single and so is Iveta [Lukosiute."
