When Love Island winner Molly-Mae Hague announced last month that she and fiancé Tommy Fury had split after five years, the showbiz world was left reeling. Fast forward three weeks and the drama is still rumbling on, with more women coming out of the woodwork to allege that boxer Tommy had been unfaithful.
But now insiders have made a shock revelation to Closer, claiming that Molly-Mae and Tommy, both 25, had been hoping to expand their family and give their one-year-old daughter, Bambi, a sibling just before their surprise split.
A source says, ‘The heartbreaking fact of it is that Molly-Mae and Tommy were hoping to try for a second baby this summer. They’d been through a rough patch and agreed that adding to their family was really important to both of them, so they’d secretly postponed their wedding plans in the hope they’d have another child in 2025.’
Before their break-up – which Molly-Mae said she’d never imagined happening in ‘a million years’ – the pair had been reality TV’s dream couple. After meeting on Love Island in 2019, they had gone from strength-to-strength, and seemed to be doing better than ever ahead of their split.
In 2022, the pair moved into their £3.5m home and, one year later, Tommy got down on one knee. Molly-Mae had even commemorated the anniversary of their engagement on Instagram just weeks before the split.
The engagement came months after the pair welcomed their baby girl Bambi in January 2023. At the time, Molly-Mae shared a sweet message about their daughter, writing, ‘I can’t believe we get to keep you forever.’
Now insiders say that while Molly is naturally broken since the split, she’s grateful things have worked out the way they have. The source continues, ‘While of course a baby would have been a blessing, after all that’s come out, Molly is actually relieved she didn’t fall pregnant. There is understandably a sense of added heartache knowing she and Tommy won’t be able to give Bambi a sibling though – not to mention her shattered dreams of having a big family together like they’d always planned.’
In an emotional Vlog released last week, Molly-Mae told fans she’d been ‘lonely’, ‘bed-bound’ and had lost her appetite since the split, adding that baby Bambi was having attachment issues and seemed to ‘sense that things have changed.’
As soon as Tommy and Molly-Mae announced their break-up, rumours began swirling that Tommy had repeatedly been unfaithful to his influencer girlfriend.
While the boxer, who is the half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, has denied cheating, the rumours reached fever pitch last week. Even more drama unfurled as Milla Corfixen, from Denmark, alleged that she had reportedly kissed Tommy at a club in Macedonia, after she had previously denied the rumours.
And the insider reveals Milla’s comments have sent Molly-Mae spiralling into a ‘really dark place’, saying, ‘She’s told pals she almost feels like trying to arrange a meeting with her so she can get the truth face-to-face. Pals have urged her to think carefully, but she is beside herself and insists she can’t move on without every piece of information available so she can get all the facts straight.’
