While many Love Island contestants make their mark on the show, none have quite lived up to Malin Andersson. Malin is best known for laying into Terry Walsh on Love Island 2016 after he moved on a bit too quickly when she was dumped from the Island, and thus one of the great early scenes of Love Island was born.

What happened to Malin Andersson on Love Island?
Malin was a contestant on season 2 of Love Island. She initially coupled up with Rykard Jenkins, but she soon recoupled with Terry Walsh. She was booted out the villa on day 25, and Terry quickly moved on with the next bombshell, Emma Jane Woodhams. Malin could do nothing but watch, heartbroken, back in the UK. Or so we thought.
Then came a now-iconic twist where Malin was flown back to confront her then-boyfriend for cheating on her. Keep in mind, this was before Islanders were invited back just for kicks Molly Marsh-style.
Malin has since spoken out about her Love Island experience, explaining that even the incredible scene of her yelling at Terry was a little bit staged.
She told Metro, “I got asked to come back in to confront him. I didn’t really want to, I was like I couldn’t be bothered. And I was like, you know, I did a bit of acting… Pretend I’m angry. I couldn’t give a s*** about him.”
In a statement on her Instagram, Malin also wrote how not initially being picked made her feel, and people to be kind to the future contestants.
She wrote, “Filming this episode, I hadn’t a clue what was going to happen. I presumed I would find someone and that would be it. But I didn’t. I didn’t get picked. I was embarrassed, I felt so UGLY, fat, I wanted to leave the show there and then… Yes, I did audition for the show; it was my choice. But I want you all to know how putting yourself on a show like that is a madness.
“There’s going to be a new set of people in the same situation I was, and over the next few weeks there’s going to be awful things said about these guys and a lot of trolling but I can’t stress enough HOW important it is to NOT be one of those people. We’re all human. ❤️”
Does Malin Andersson have children?
In December 2018, Malin gave birth to her first daughter, Consy, named after her mother who has passed away the year before. Consy was born seven weeks premature and sadly passed away just a month later.
Over the years, Malin has shared tributes to her daughter, and spoken out about the immense grief that comes with losing a child.
In January 2022, Malin and her then-boyfriend Jared welcomed their baby daughter, Xaya.
Why did Malin Andersson and Jared split up?
Just a few weeks after the birth of their daughter, Xaya, Malin and Jared called it quits on their relationship.
Malin revealed that the PTSD from losing her first daughter so soon served as one of the reasons that she and Jared split.
She revealed to her Instagram followers, “Jared was an absolute saving grace and it’s one of the main reasons we broke up because it got too much for both of us and I needed to heal and get better mentally.”

Since leaving the villa, Malin has become a mental health campaigner, and uses her platform to promote issues close to her heart like domestic violence, child loss, and body positivity, as well as sharing her motherhood journey.

Malin began dating Tom Kemp in 2018, and she shortly after became pregnant with her first daughter.
Tom was jailed in 2020 after admitting that he had assaulted Malin, leaving her with bruises and broken bones. Tom was released from jail three months later, but was promptly sent back after he broke his license conditions. M
