When it comes to Love Island, the contestants always seem to find themselves falling into some sort of character stereotype; the villain, the class clown, the bad boy, it's like an American teen comedy over in the Spanish villa.

It turns out this year was no different, but you may well be surprised by some of the labels the Love Island class of 2024 found themselves being given.

We managed to catch up with Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan, who were recently crowned queen and king of the villa and they lifted the lid on the resident Love Island bad boy.

"I got told off everyday," Josh confessed, and is it bad that it makes us fancy him more?

We have to admit we may well watch the video clip of him telling Mimii he "needs her in white, baby girl" a few hundred times a day.

"He was so naughty," Mimii added.

Of course we quizzed Josh on what had him in the ITV producers bad books and we weren't sure what it was going to be, but we certainly didn't think it was going to be this.

"Language," he revealed. Although, to be fair, we don't think we ever saw Josh swear.

"Not sticking to myself when it was time to stick to myself because we had this thing on down days or lunch when the boys had to stay away from the girls and I would be looking for Mimii," he went on, "just stuff like that."

To be fair to Josh, is it not a dating show? What did they want him to do? Avoid Mimii at all costs?

"I would always get in trouble," he laughed, "every day I got in trouble. Swearing or saying words you can't say."

As for his other half, Mimii revealed whether or not she matched Josh's bad boy attitude.

"I was a good girl," she grinned and we didn't expect any other response.

Didn't we tell you it was giving teen rom-com.
