Ikenna Ekwonna was an absolute legend in theLove Island 2022 villa and we were sad to see him dumped from the show after 16 episodes. His social media proved that when we were howling at him on our screens it wasn’t a fluke (although it must be in the genes because while he was away, his family ran his Twitter and we were in stitches).
But if you’re having a bit of brain fog about why we loved Ikenna so much, here’s a reminder of who he is.

Ikeena is 24 years old. He was born on February 23, 1999.

He was on the 2022 series of the show alongside the likes of Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti.

He was coupled up with Indiyah Polack. However, the two agreed there was a little to no romantic spark between them.
Ikenna admitted that he felt pressure from the producers to “speed up” his relationship with Indiyah.
“It wasn’t just producers, it was probably everyone in there that thought I was going too slow with Indiyah. In my head, I was like, ‘On the outside, what would I do?’ and how would I actually take it with a girl?
“I thought I was going at a good pace. I dunno, they pressured me a little bit.”
We find this rather confusing as we have been told differently by Tanyel Raven who said, “producers not once told me to do anything, I don’t think they can. I don’t think anyone can make you do anything.”
However, Molly-Mae Hauge seemed to agree with Ikeena saying that she also felt pressured.
“I wish I’d kind of, a few times, just stuck up for myself a little bit more and be like, ‘no actually, I’m not gonna do that because that’s not me’.”
So we’re now not so sure who to believe…
Why did he want to go on Love Island?
He said that he wanted to go into the villa to “find someone.”
"I’ve only been in one past relationship but now I think I’m at the age where I could find someone.”

Unfortunately, we don’t know if he’s in a relationship right now, so he’s probably single (and maybe ready to mingle?).
