The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Rachel Lugo has opened up about suffering from a rare medical condition that affects her vision and makes one eye look much bigger than the other.

Rachel spoke out on Instagram as she revealed she's often inundated with messages from concerned fans urging her to get her eye checked by a doctor.

Sharing a screenshot of a message from one of her followers who begged her to "get [her] eye checked", the reality star shared more details of the condition and admitted it leaves her feeling "self conscious".

"I get loads of messages about my eye... it doesn't look as weird when I use a filter hence why I use them but I'm still self conscious about it... don't think anything can be done," she wrote in the caption.

In the direct messages to the fan, Rachel revealed that she has ocular toxoplasmosis - an eye infection caused by a parasite which attacks the retina and can cause eye pain, blurred vision and even blindness.

She explained, "I'm partially sighted in that eye. My vitreous detached 17 years ago which doesn't normally happen until 70+.

"Don't think there's anything they can do. It's shrinking 😭"

Rachel is a much-loved Housewife, having joined the RHOCheshire cast in 2017 ahead of series six. Last year, she opened up about moving in with her boyfriend Nick after taking their first holiday together. Although Rachel is a reality star, Nick - who she met on dating app Luxy - is usually very private and keeps his life out of the public eye.
