“Any long-term weight-loss plan requires permanent changes in how you view your food and drink, but a short juice fast is a step in the right direction,” says Liz, author of Juice (Kyle Books, £14.99). “It’s a great way to rid the body of toxins, it’s virtually fat free and relatively low in calories, while being high in energizing nutrients.

“It also puts you in the right frame of mind to kick start a diet. It’s so strict you can’t cheat, but it’s only for one day!"

Liz's plan is super easy to follow

Here’s how to do it….

Choose a day where your schedule is quiet so you can relax and give yourself the best chance of completing the fast. Try to keep as peaceful as possible, avoiding busy places, stressful situations, as well as TV and computer screens to put you in the right mindset.
