Closer’s Robyn Farnham went along to one of LA Fitness’s super-intense Primal workout classes.

The classes are separated into different categories. You can try the Primal Strength which involves using kettle bells, slam bells or Powerbags tp ‘bolster explosive strength and tone your entire body’.

The Primal Core class focuses on your stability and helps define your waist and abs, as well as sculpting your body and helping increase the strength of your core.

Here’s what Robyn thought:

“I was slightly daunted by the prospect of an hours work out squeezed into half an hour, but I decided to jump straight in to the Primal Series and tackle their strength class.

“I was mildly worried when I sore an array of kettle bells and other lifting equipment knowing how much there was to achieve in such a short space of time. The instructor was friendly and clearly described and showed us how to do each action, and you only had to do each repetition for 1 minute so it felt doable.

“I never thought I would say I would throw a kettle bell from above my head to the ground happily for half an hour but I really enjoyed the high intensity work out, and the fact it wasn't drawn out like a normal gym class.”
