This Girl Can – the nationwide campaign that got women of all shapes and sizes moving in 2015 – is back better than ever for 2016, teaming up with Sport Relief to further inspire us ladies to get into sports and fitness.

Encouraging women to ‘please jiggle generously’, the campaign aims to inspire us to overcome our insecurities and get active - all while raising cash and helping to change the lives of so many.

And many of the strong females who were initially behind the This Girl Can campaign have shown their full support for the union, such as Sam Mollaghan.

The mum of three from Bournemouth appeared in the original campaign, and said of the collaboration:

“The campaign has done such a great job of helping women and girls feel more comfortable exercising.

“I think the new partnership with Sport Relief is a fantastic way of inspiring more women to get active, and all for a great cause.

“There are so many different ways you can raise money, so it doesn’t matter what you do or how you do it, getting involved is what counts.

“I’m going to be running in a local 5k for Sport Relief in March, wish me luck and remember - please jiggle generously!”

Radio DJ and television presenter Jo Whiley, who is also a key supporter of the campaign explained:

“How can you not be inspired by the combination of Sport Relief and This Girl Can, and hopefully women everywhere will be motivated to jiggle generously to raise cash and change lives.

“And, however you decide to fundraise, there are special new mantras on the This Girl Can app – so you can celebrate what you’re doing, and encourage even more women to get involved.”

Fancy getting involved too?

Well, there’s plenty of ways you can, from signing up to an event at the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Games, to doing a sponsored walk or organising a sponsored netball match - get all your girls in the game!

And don’t forget to create your own inspirational This Girl Can campaign poster with the web app – it’s all part of the fun, after all.

Tanya Joseph, This Girl Can campaign director, reminds us:

“Fundraising is a lot like exercise – it’s not about what you do or how you do it. What matters is that you’re doing something that’s good for yourself, and good for other people.

“Women come in all shapes and sizes and levels of ability, and they should all feel able to exercise and play sport, and to do it for great causes like Sport Relief.”

To date, Sport Relief has raised a whopping £262 million to help people living incredibly tough lives all across the UK and the world’s poorest communities.
