"It's been a busy and exciting week with meetings about up-and-coming projects. As much as it's been amazing to be home and spend quality time

with my family since falling pregnant, planning what's coming up next year felt amazing.

There are two exciting projects I'm really looking forward to getting my teeth into - one being a book deal and another which we're hoping to announce in the next few weeks. I will keep you posted!

Being a stay-at-home-mum has never been something I've ever considered, because I'm extremely passionate about my job and I'm a real career girl

at heart

I definitely inherited that from my parents, both having successful careers; my mum works in the NHS and my dad had his own business as a cameraman.

However, with my love for keeping a career going, I've been fortunate enough to find a good balance with work and family life.

Not only do I have a great network of friends and family who help us out, I try and make sure I take time out when needed.

I know I mentioned about missing my dad a couple of columns ago but it was another tough week with it being Father's Day last weekend.

I'm so lucky to have such loving and sensitive men in my life, especially my son, Corey, who decided to cheer me up and treat Sam to a little body paint wishing Sam a happy Father's Day!

Apart from missing my dad we did have a lovely day.

We went for a drive out and stopped at a lovely country pub, where Sam indulged himself with a few ales and later Sam made us an amazing pork roast with all the trimmings as I relaxed in the sun with a fresh mint and lime soda in one hand and a book in the other!

I know what you're thinking, that sounds more like Mother's Day! Well, Sam really wanted to cook; he doesn't get to do it very often because I generally take over in the kitchen!

I'm off to 'The Boodles' today at Stoke Park for a spot of lunch and watching a few games of tennis. I bought the dress I'm wearing from Mint Velvet a while ago, knowing it would fit my ever-growing bump. I'm happy to be finally wearing it, it's so comfortable too... Apart from my shoes, but I've packed a pair of flats in my handbag for later!

I've had a pile of pregnancy books on my nightstand for some time which I've been steadily getting through.

I've been reading up lots on Hypnobirthing with the Katherine Graves book as the KG Hypnobirthing method is the one I'm going for; as mentioned in last week's column.

Another book which was recommended to me, and ladies, I HIGHLY recommend it to you, is Virginia Howes's 'The Baby's Coming'. It's so brilliant, I couldn't put it down!

Not only did I learn about Virginia's life and her reasons for becoming a midwife, then independent midwife and the incredible job she has done for hundreds of women, it was also so informative about home-birthing and its benefits.

I'm proud to say I'm getting the opportunity to meet her this week to discuss my possible plans for having an independent midwife and home-birth. I will follow this up next week for anyone who might be interested.

Have a good week! x"
