Chloe Madeley: ‘I’m more confident and happier than ever’

Talking to Chloe Madeley, it’s hard to think she ever suffered from a lack confidence.

But the gorgeous 28-year-old, with a body we’d LOVE to have, struggled with body issue until, that is, she discovered weight-lifting. Speaking to CloserOnline at the launch of her free Groupon Strong Not Skinny workout video, Chloe tells us how much her life has changed since she started getting fitter. And we have to say, it’s bloody inspiring.

“I’m a massive advocate of weights because of the amazing things it can do for your body and what it can do for your mentality and self-confidence,” she reveals.

“It changed my body and my mentality. I felt so much happier and more confident. And it made me feel more driven. We need to get off the treadmill.”

So what is it that makes weightlifting so good?

“The thing with weightlifting is: you are still burning calories but you’re building muscle and muscle burns calories even at rest so it’s just as important,” Chloe explains.

“The Groupon workout is so good because I’ve worked muscle building and cardio into one circuit so if you perform it once a day, six days a week, you’ll see great results. It’s only 20 minutes long – you just need a small space and your body.”

She continues: “If you do it before breakfast, it’s really good fat-burning, or do it in the middle of the day in your office and that’s good for lowering your cortisone levels, hormones do play a part in weight loss, and you do it before bed while your partner is reading.”

Chloe’s worked hard for her rock hard abs and incredible shape and admitted it’s not always easy to stay on track. But for motivation, she believes forward planning is your best bet.

She says: “Of course motivation is the hardest part – if you keep going you will see the results after three to four weeks and when that happens, that becomes your motivation. How to keep going for that time without falling off the wagon? Trust me, once you get there you won’t need motivating.

“I would say to women, book a holiday that’s a couple of months away – something where you want to feel good in your bikini – and use that as a motivation. Even if it’s a short city break.”
