  1. If you fall off the workout wagon, just get back on it! Don’t let all the hard work you’ve already done go to waste, just because of a few dodgy days. You can always make up for lost time.

  2. Form a fitness group with your mates or on Facebook. I love working out with the Geordie Shore girls when we’re in the house because it helped keep me motivated. If one of us slacks, the others keep you on course.

  3. Don’t match your man’s meals! I know when you’re in a relationship it’s hard not to eat the same as your boyfriend, but if you’re four stone lighter than a bloke, you can’t eat the same portion size.

  4. Get into a routine. I do my 3 Minute Belly Blitz first thing every morning so I know it’s done and out of the way. Put an alarm on your phone to schedule in exercise, it will help you stick to a regular routine.

  5. Keep moving the goal posts. When I started my 3 Minute Belly Blitz DVD I couldn’t even do one of the three-minute segments without being completely out of breath. But once I could do three minutes, I upped it to six, then nine. Once it gets easy, it’s time to raise your game!

  6. Don’t eat in front of the telly. I was the worst at this, especially when Georide Shore was on. If you’re watching TV you’re not watching what you eat so you’ll scoff more than you need to. Sit down at a table and eat properly.

  7. Ignorance isn’t bliss - swot up on the calories in your favourite foods and drinks. If it’s a cocktail, consider whether you really want to have another glass and how much work it will take to burn off the calories. It makes you think about food and booze in a new light.

  8. Keep Lycra strictly for the gym! Avoid super stretchy, loose or baggy clothes during the day because they make it hard for you to tell if you’ve gained or lost weight. Stick to fitted clothes with a waistband so you know if it’s loose you’re on course.

  9. I recommend using selfies for motivation - Instagram isn’t just for vanity! It helps me keep motivated and seeing old pictures of how I looked before I lost weight inspires me to keep the weight off.

  10. Don’t make excuses. My DVD is in three-minute segments and EVERYONE can find three minutes a day to work out. It all adds up, three minutes every day is 21minutes a week. Give it a go!!

  11. Eat slowly. I used to wolf down my food in five minutes then look for pudding because I was still hungry. Take your time over your tea - it should take 20 minutes to eat a meal. I guarantee you won’t be hungry if you eat more slowly, because it gives your tummy time to tell your brain that you’re full.

  12. Variety is the key to life. No one likes doing the same thing every day and exercise is no different. Shake it up a bit. My DVD has different workouts so you’re not doing the same routines day in day out.
