Do you hit the gym first thing in the morning? If so what do you eat to keep you going?
I don’t eat before I train. I know it’s controversial but if I eat I feel sick. If you’re hungry eat, but I wake up and I’m not instantly hungry. I prefer to go and train, and afterwards I’m ravenous. Listen to your body.
Following my workout I eat something quite high protein, scrambled eggs on whole-wheat toast, or a shake.
Do you prefer working out at home or in a gym?
I do a bit of both. I have a personal trainer and I swear by it, it’s great to have that motivation. Or a work out with my sister. Sometimes working out by yourself can be a bit depressing.
I love going to classes like spinning and in the morning it’s great to do cardio based stuff along with some weights. If I’m in a hurry I’ll train in the house.
Do you focus on protein and avoid carbs to maintain your weight?
I believe in eating anything in moderation. There’s no point in cutting out food groups. The minute you deny your body stuff you’ll crave it. If you deny carbs your body will demand a massive pizza.
I try and eat protein, carbs, veg, everything throughout the day, The morning is the perfect time to have your carbs as it sets you up for the rest of the day, Lunchtime I’ll have a wholemeal wrap with tuna salad or a bit of sushi. In the evening something like steak, sweet potato with green beans. I don’t believe in cutting anything out but I believe in making wise decisions and finding healthy alternatives to things. It’s about educating yourself.
Snack-wise I love the Mini V shakes. There’s less than 120 calories in the shake, it’s like a snack. Also almonds and blueberries make a great snack.
How did you maintain your fitness following your boob job?
For a while I was completely out of action in terms of exercise. I’d gone from being so active and using exercise as a form of stress reliever and mood regulator. Being bed-bound was really frustrating. I went back after 8weeks and I had to build up my strength. It’s a serious procedure so you have to take it gently. It’s not been too much of an ordeal but it was frustrating not being active.
The best thing about my boobs is they’ve balanced out my bum. I’m more of an hourglass figure now!
How do you feel when you look back to the person you were eighteen months ago?
Eighteen months ago I was so miserable and depressed. I’m a completely different person now, I’m a new woman. I’m full of positivity and wake up ready for the world!
How do you cope with hangovers?
Something in alcohol attacks the part in your brain that tells you’re body your full, so you can just eat and eat and eat. Drink is the devil, it’s like drinking sugar.
What makes you bad, makes you better. Just get back on it (laughs).
Honestly though, drink plenty of water before you go to bed as what kills you most is the dehydration. When you feel sorry for yourself you just want to eat junk.
Do you find it harder to stay slim when in a relationship?
It’s easier to be slim when you’re single. The big habit in a relationship is you eat the same portions as your partner when you should be eating less. When you’re single, you’re partying your clothes shopping but when you’re in a relationship your go out for food. It evolves around food. Contentment breeds fatties, man!
When you’re single you want to look good and feel great.
What made you want to create your own supplements?
I’m so passionate about Mini V it’s been a real labour of love for me.
It’s hard to lose weight but what is so gruelling is maintaining it. People underestimate how difficult it is to keep it off. You have to go back to your everyday life and it can be really hard.
Mini V makes maintaining your weight easier and less like a chore. We even have a detox one that is perfect for January. They’re specifically designed for women, which is great as loads of stuff is geared towards men.
They’re geared towards making you slim, healthy and happy. That’s why I love them!
