Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Joanne Clifton opens her big shop bags for Closer.

How much do you spend?

About £80 per week for my husband and I. We’ve got a Sainsbury’s right by us, so we like to shop there, and we also frequently get Hello Fresh boxes.

Describe your daily diet…

For breakfast, I have Alpro vanilla yoghurt made from soya with blueberries, cashew nuts and a banana, alongside an oat milk coffee. When I’m on tour, I’ll take meal-prepped food for easy lunches. Typically, this will be something like pasta with tomato sauce, peppers, mushrooms and vegan cheese on top. Recently for dinner we’ve been loving baked sweet potato with pesto and chicken rice.

Is there anything you refuse to eat?

Liquorice. I’ve always hated the flavour.

Strangest thing you’ve eaten?

One thing that I absolutely love is dipping Wotsits in an Aperol spritz. It’s delicious.

What would you cook to impress?

In 2017, I was taught how to make the perfect poached eggs by my hair stylist. I put two eggs either side of the plate, prosciutto in the middle with baby tomatoes, and two dollops of smashed avocado at the top and bottom.

Comfort food?

I’m not really a sweet person, but I adore Nutella and will eat it from the jar with a spoon.

Favourite takeaway?

Chinese. I order pork dumplings, chicken chow mein, chicken balls and rice.
