RECIPE: Bean & Sausage hot pot for a stormy summer’s day

On this strange and stormy day, throw summer cooking out the window and stew up something comforting and hot, like this bean and sausage pot.

Fry the sausages until brown all over - this should take about ten minutes.

Add the tomato sauce, stirring well, and then stir in the beans, treacle or sugar and mustard. Bring to the simmer, cover and cook for 30 mins. Serve with a hunk of crusty bread or rice.
