Picture the scene; you're sitting down to a delicious loaf of bread, filled with melting cheese, drizzled with oil, and covered with a scattering of spring onions.
Even better? It's still warm - and you made it yourself in under 30 minutes.
If this is a dream you'd like to make a reality, then check out the VERY easy recipe below; trust us, it'll be worth it.
Ingredients
-
1 unsliced loaf sourdough bread
-
350 g cheese (we recommend cheddar)
-
A handful of spring onions
-
2 teaspoons poppy seeds
-
1/2 cup butter, melted
**
Directions**
- Cut the bread lengthwise and widthwise, but DO NOT cut through the bottom crust.
If it helps, cutting the bread is the hardest part of this recipe. It's literally all plain sailing from here.
- Place the cut loaf (with reverence) on a foil-lined baking sheet.
- Slice the cheese - carefully, mind. Cut fingers will ruin the glory of this cheesy bready masterpiece.
- Insert cheese between the cuts. Go on - nestle them right in there!
- Chop some fresh spring onions. Try not to cry... but, if you do, remember your tears will be all worth it in the end.
- Combine melted butter with poppy seeds and onions and drizzle (we LOVE that word!) all over the bread.
- Wrap your masterpiece in foil and bake in 180°C for 15 minutes.
- Unwrap and bake for another 10 minutes until the skin is crispy and cheese is melted.
- TUCK IN!!!
