Silken Tofu

Tofu makes a great replacement if you want to swap out your morning scrambled eggs. Scrambled tofu is tasty AND has plenty of protein to help you start the day right.

Flax seeds

This is a great way to bind your ingredients in the absence of eggs.

Water, oil and baking powder

This combo is fab if you want to bake cookies, muffins and soda bread. 2 tbsp of water, 1 tbsp of oil and 2 tbsp of baking powder is the equivalent to 1 egg.

Tomato paste and potato starch

More savoury dishes can use tomato paste (2 tbsp equal to 1 egg). These work great for Vegan burgers and meatballs.

Vegetable oil

Some recipes (such as muffins) simply require oil rather than eggs to help bind ingredients together.

Banana

Banana is great for thickening cake and brownie recipes and making them more moist. Mash one banana to replace one egg.

Vinegar and baking soda

One teaspoon of baking soda mixed with one tablespoon of white vinegar is the equivalent to one egg, meaning you can bake ‘fluffier’ treats 100% egg free.

Egg replacer

Many supermarkets now sell egg replacer, which takes away the difficulty of finding kitchen alternatives for your recipes. The only disadvantage is that many of these products tend to be slightly pricier than homemade alternatives.
