Ben and Jerry's dairy-free ice cream is currently only available in the US - but they've just announced it's coming to the UK
There are many of us in the country who struggle with consuming dairy.
But for some of us, the draw of cheese, ice cream and other delicious milk-based food products are just too tasty to turn down.
Why is it that the most delicious foods are made from dairy?!
Some of us (cough) tend to stuff the consequences and eat it anyway - but regret it later.
No need to go into details.
And whilst there are now thankfully quite a few dairy-free ice creams to choose from, it's hard to walk past a tub of Ben and Jerry's on offer in Tesco without lusting after it.
Lucky vegans and dairy/lactose-freers in the US are able to chow down on their fave Ben and Jerry's flavours to their heart's content, as the ice cream giant now have seven dairy-free flavours.
The ice creams, which are made with almond milk, are currently in the flavours: Caramel Almond Brittle, Cherry Garcia, Coconut Seven Layer Bar, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Chunky Monkey, Coffee Caramel Fudge and P.B. & Cookies.
BUT.
A very interesting development has taken place today. One that we THINK you may be happy about.

Ben and Jerry's today released a statement to announce that they will be bringing the almondy goodness over here very soon - but haven't told us anything specific.
The statement read: "Well, so much for surprises! So many of our fans have been asking us to bring our non-dairy ice cream across the pond, we couldn't keep the secret anymore.
"We can now confirm that it's true, we are working on bringing Non-Dairy here! We hope to have it available in the UK soon. Well, that is, if we don't eat it all ourselves first...
"Some might ask, 'Why not now?' (Yes, we've seen your tweets!) The answer is, we've been working on this for quite a while, and want to make sure these flavours live up to what Ben & Jerry's is known for: enormous chunks, delicious swirls and a commitment to values-led ingredient sourcing.
"Our Flavour Gurus have been hard at work to ensure they taste just as euphoric as our dairy tubs, which includes a lot of taste testing!
"That's all we can share for now; we can't confirm exactly when it's coming. Keep a close eye on our social channels for all the latest non-dairy updates..."
We mean, it's not very much to go on admittedly, but just the confirmation ALONE is excellent news for those of us who can't control our love of ice cream and who should DEFINITELY avoid it.
