Anyone who has EVER boarded a flight will know that most babies do not like planes.
We’ve all watched parents struggle to calm down their youngsters, unable to explain to them exactly why their ears are popping and why they’re stuck in such a tiny space for hours on end.
But one young mum has claimed that flight attendants chose NOT to help her settle her baby, but to expel her from the flight altogether.
Pregnant singer Sarah Blackwood had boarded a United Airlines flight from San Francisco to Vancouver when an air steward ordered the plane to stop taxiing and return to the airport.
The reason? Sarah’s baby would not stop crying.
She told ABC news: "Then we were taxiing and my son had fallen asleep, as I'd predicted.”
"But then the pilot went over the intercom and said he was turning around to go refuel, which I thought was so strange....When we got back to the gate, a lady from the airport came inside and told me to I had to leave the plane."
The airline has a different side of the story.
They said in a statement: “Despite numerous requests, the child was not seated, as required by federal regulation to ensure passenger safety, and was repeatedly in the aisle of the aircraft before departure and during taxi.”
Despite the airline’s claims, other passengers on the plane took to Facebook to show solidarity with Sarah.
One witness write: “Everyone on that flight was shocked at how unprofessional, unreasonable and insensitive a certain member of your staff acted!”
