One Direction fan Lauren Richardson found herself at the centre of a shocking cheating scandal that nearly spelt the end of the world’s biggest boy band.
Lauren, 26, was pictured looking ‘cosy’ with Zayn, 22, prompting rumours that he had been unfaithful to his Little Mix girlfriend Perrie Edwards.
Rather than fade into obscurity, the Essex girl could be starring in upcoming ITV reality show Love Island.
A source told The Mirror: “Lauren sees Love Island as a great opportunity for people to see the real her.
"She has kept a low profile since the stories ran about her and Zayn, and there are a lot of untruths that she wants corrected.”
They continued: “She never asked for the attention but now wants something positive to come from the situation.
“She is looking forward to getting to Majorca and, hopefully, finding love in the process.”
After photographs of him with Lauren went viral, Zayn quit the band after being signed off with ’stress’.
The news nearly broke the internet, with Directioners taking to Twitter in grief.
Lauren felt the wrath of Zayn’s fans, with many blaming her for the band’s near-split.
