The 25-year-old admitted she can’t help but compare herself to the other girls in the competition – but their weight, not their talent.
Lauren said: “When I see other people I think, ‘Oh my God, all the girls are so skinny. I need to lose weight’, but you’ve just got to be happy with yourself.”
Speaking to Closer this week, Lauren confessed she’s already felt the downside of her new fame.
She said: “Every girl has their ups and downs. It can be so difficult with the pressure. People think it’s just about singing, but you have to be strong mentally.
“There’s also so much pressure on your looks as a girl in the spotlight. I’m normal, I have my insecurities. It doesn’t help that you look so much bigger on camera.”
Lauren, who told us she’s single and not looking right now, is one of the favourites to win the ITV show, after blowing the judges away during the first live shows with her performance on Whitney Houston’s I’m Every Woman.
Head judge Simon Cowell heaped praise on Lauren, telling her: “That was seriously fantastic, what an amazing, amazing vocal. I think the so-called dancing was a bit clumsy, so that’s something you’re going to have to work on.
“Having said that, it is a singing competition… and it sounded like it was your record. It was a brilliant start.”
