Eoghan, now 23, was just 16-year-old when he shot to fame in the ITV competition in 2008, and made it all the way to the final where he finished in third place.

He landed a record deal after the show, but was sadly dropped when his debut single limped in at number 96 on the Official UK Singles Chart.

Since then, Eoghan has turned his back on music – and instead has made a bit of a name for himself in Irish football.

He plays for Northern Ireland’s Coagh United and, apparently, spends his spare time getting loads of tattoos.

The former baby-faced singer showed off a huge sleeve tattoo on Instagram, and it’s clear from some of his topless shots that he spends a lot of time in the gym.

Eoghan is clearly not bitter about his music career being less successful than other former X Factor stars, as he regularly gushes over his team on social media.

Sharing a snap of him playing earlier this year, he wrote: “Happy to have made my debut for Coagh United the other night. #CUFC #9 [sic].”
