X Factor’s Christopher Maloney has shocked fans after revealing he spent £60,000 on cosmetic surgery following a nervous breakdown.
After coming third in the talent show back in 2012, the 37-year-old fell into a deep depression which made even getting out of bed a struggle.
The toll of being targeted by Twitter trolls who branded him ‘Mr Potato Head’ eventually began to show.
He explained to The Mirror: “I was having the time of my life at the start of the series but towards the end I started feeling more and more strained.
"That’s when I noticed my hair was starting to fall out in clumps.
“As I started feeling worse, my body started falling apart.”
Since leaving the show, Christopher has undergone three hair transplants, an eye lift and two nose jobs. He has also had teeth veneers.
“I hated how big my nose was so I’ve had surgery twice on it – to make it smaller and change the way my profile looks,” he said.
“When the bandages first came off I looked in the mirror and had a complete panic attack because I was all bloody and bruised. Now I feel so much happier for it.
“I’d like more procedures. I don’t think it’s vain. I think if it makes me happy, what does it matter what people think?”
Christopher is now happily engaged to partner Gary Doran and runs the Christopher Maloney Theatre and Arts Academy.
