But instead of being able to celebrate making it to week two, Stephanie had to beg disgusting online trolls to stop telling her to die.

Overload Generation received consistently bad comments from the judges, in particular Simon, for both of their performances at the weekend.

Thanking those who had voted for her, Stephanie last night tweeted: "YOU made this happen for me. Honestly. no words. I love you."

Last night Stephanie's mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini said the sing-off had been a wake up call.

She told Xtra Factor's Sarah-Jane Crawford: "We need to do a lot of work on her, on her self-belief. She's got a delicate voice… It's a good wake-up call for her and for me."
