Nicole Scherzinger mentored the controversial singer in 2012’s X Factor run, and has jumped to his defence following his emotional apology to fans after his last X Factor live show performance.
Nicole told Digital Spy: "I'm just there for him. I don't read the press, I know who he is as a person, I know his heart.’
The gorgeous judge continued: ‘I'm just there to support him. He's unbelievably talented and he's worked so hard on his album. In the end I know that the cream will always rise to the top.’
James sparked controversy after making homophobic comments in a rap song. The controversy then spread to twitter and he eventually deleted his twitter account following a backlash from fans.
Nicole’s fellow judge Louis Walsh recently spoke out against James, calling him a ‘competition winner that got lucky.’
