On Sunday night’s episode, primary school teacher Joe Waller wowed the judges with his original song Stay.

Rita Ora was particularly taken by the 23-year-old and enjoyed a cheeky flirt with him.

But it seems Joe has given up on his X Factor dreams, as it’s been revealed he’s already quit the show.

According to the Mirror, Joe revealed on Twitter that he’s pulled out of the competition – despite making it through to the next round.

He is said to have written: “So mid-week I received a completely random email from the X Factor team.

"Although I made the choice to continue in the programme because I felt it was the best thing for my career at the time, they have decided to air my audition.

“SO I PROMISE I DIDN’T LIE ABOUT ANYTHING. But they have chosen to air my audition even though I chose to leave.”

But fans of Joe shouldn’t worry, as he later revealed that he’s still pursuing music.

He added: “I have been working my arse off for nearly 2 years gigging everywhere and anywhere and it feels like something has fallen my way and I just hope you can keep enjoying my stuff.”
