The 27-year-old came runner-up on last year’s X Factor, but that hasn’t stopped her signing to the same label as winner Ben Haenow, 29.

She tweeted a picture confirming the news, writing: “It’s official!!! The hard work starts now!!! [sic]”

According to reports, Fleur will start work on her debut album after completing the X Factor tour.

Fleur has already enjoyed semi chart success, after her rendition of Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk stormed to the top of the iTunes chart.

It is thought she will release both her debut single and album later this year.

Despite not winning the show, it seems Fleur is joining the long list of runner-ups, including One Direction and Olly Murs, who went on to be successful regardless.

Following the news, Sinitta tweeted: “Congratulations @FleurEast being signed to @Syco records ! Fly baby fly!! [sic]”

TOWIE star Lauren Pope also sent her congratulations, and fellow X Factor star Paul Akister wrote: “Would like to say a massive congratulations to @FleurEast for being signed by @syco yeeeaaaahhhhh!!!!! [sic]”
