Following a bitter defeat in the ratings war during Strictly’s first Saturday night show, The X Factor reportedly has two weeks to ‘save’ the show.

With just a fortnight until the live shows kick off, stars Carolina Flack, Nick Grimshaw and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini have been working on polishing their image.

Caroline, 35, has jetted off to Portugal for a ‘detox’ after an embarrassing nipple-slip pic made its way onto Instagram.

The Daily Star also reports that Nick Grimshaw has changed his hair do and Cheryl is planning sexier outfits in an effort to win over viewers.

A source told the paper: “Strictly has so far trounced The X Factor in the war for viewers. While it’s off air for a two week break, bosses know this is their chance to boost popularity for X Factor.

“So they’ve keen to ensure all eyes are on the X Factor when Strictly returns. It’s a total image haul, they all want to impress.”

X Factor have yet to comment on the reports.
