The four girls, originally from the Philippines, received huge compliments from the judges for their rendition of Jessie J’s Bang Bang and have become one of the favourites to win this year’s series.
But, after sailing through the boot camp round, shown on TV last weekend, the girls will be going to judge’s houses with a new name.
Another group – allegedly with the same name – has made a copyright claim, and now the girls will be known as Fourth Impact.
A source told The Sun: “It came as a bit of a shock. The homework should have been done.”
This isn’t the first time a group has been forced to change its name during the early stages of the show.
Little Mix – who became the first, and so far only, band to win the show in 2011 – were known as Rhythmix during the audition stages.
But shortly into live shows, a similar case meant they had no choice but to change their name.
Fourth Power were caught up in some controversy following their initial audition, after it emerged they previously won two other talent shows.
But a spokesperson for The X Factor said: “There are no rules preventing anyone who has appeared on other shows from applying for The X Factor.”
