The 17-year-old, who was eliminated from the reality show on Sunday evening following a sing-off with Andrea Faustini, has blamed The X Factor for the breakdown of her relationship with boyfriend Liam Baker.
And, speaking openly in a new interview, Lauren Platt has also admitted that she did get a little bit close to Charlie George from Only The Young.
She explained to The Sun: “Liam didn’t sign up for the X Factor, but he ended up being dragged along for the ride. And to do that to a person is hard.
“Since I moved into the house we have been completely away from each other, and then Charlie and I started to become closer and closer."
The young singer added: "It’s very rare to meet someone who is exactly like you, and it is scary how much we are the same.”
Despite their similarities, Lauren has reportedly cooled things off with Charlie after "going off him", but has admitted that she hopes she might reunite with Liam, who she was dating for ten months before the show began, in the future.
She said: "Hopefully in the future, we’ll get back together. But if we don’t work out I won’t have any regrets."
Following Lauren Platt's elimination, Fleur East, Ben Haenow and Andrea Faustini will compete to win The X Factor on Saturday 13th December 2014.
