In the black and white Instagram snap, Willow Smith - the young daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith - is seen lying in a bed with actor Moises Arias.
Arias, famous for his role as Rico on Disney's Hannah Montana, is shirtless as he leans against a wall, while Willow lies on her side next to him, her head resting on her arm.
The actor allegedly posted the photograph onto his Instagram page and, despite the fact Willow is fully clothed in the image, many have raised concerns over the "adult setting" of the seemingly innocent photo - which was snapped during the Coachella Festival.
The picture has been deleted, but many Twitter users took to the social networking website to re-post the photo and share their disgust.
One said the picture "creeps me out" while several others criticised Willow's parents for allowing their daughter to take part.
The situation has been particularly alarming for fans, especially as during the first weekend of Coachella, Moises tweeted:
"Let's have love and make sex."
According to TMZ, Arias is good friends with her older brother Jaden but recently he has been hanging out with Willow quite frequently.
Willow has drawn criticism in the past for dressing older than her years and for producing music that some say is too mature.
