Will Young’s early departure from Strictly Come Dancing was of course open to interpretation - ‘Was it down to Len Goodman’s comments?’ ‘Was Will given the boot by BBC bosses?’’Was the constant lycra giving him a wedgie?’

It was all down to him apparently.

Speaking candidly in an interview with The Sunday Times, Will admitted it was down to his wellbeing.

"It was important for me to leave Strictly for my own wellbeing,"

Will Young left the show last October and cited ‘personal reasons’ for his swift exit, however viewers were sure it was due to his showdown with head judge Len.

"It was a number of things," Will said. "It was nothing to do with the people on the show, and it certainly wasn't because Len Goodman dissed my salsa — I mean, come on!

"I love dance, and because of the stuff that was going on personally, I just wasn't enjoying the dancing.”

Will has been very open in the past with suffering from mental health problems, including PTSD and porn addiction.

He will be back on our screens as a guest judge in a new talent competition called Pitch Battle later this summer.

We can’t wait to have you back, Will!
