The pair have posted pictures of their new inks after they visited a New York tattoo studio together on Wednesday night.
Their new body art is the handiwork of celebrity tattoo artist Bang Bang McCurdy.
22 year-old Rita revealed her tat – of retro pin up girl - in a topless instagram pic.
The singer, who is dating DJ Calvin Harris, captioned the photo: ‘Say hello to my new little friend Rosetta...thank you @bangbang she's beautiful.’
The tattoo’s creator revealed: ‘The tattoo is on her right ribcage. It's big!’
‘When she's standing it's about seven inches tall, but when she's laying down it's about 10 inches, plus,’ added Bang Bang.
21 year-old Cara, opted to get the name of her mother Pandora – who battled a heroin addiction when Cara was younger - written on her left arm.
After Bang Bang revealed Cara's new tattoo on instagram, the tattooist posted a picture with him, Rita and Cara – bizarrely dressed as a hamburger.
‘She just pulled it out of her purse, put it on, and was like, “just me and my hamburger, what, what!"’ he told a US website.
‘She's hilarious, She's genuinely fun, one of my favourite people,’ he said.
The model has since returned to the UK where she has been busy with London Fashion Week.
It was recently been reported that the star is secretly dating Harry Styles again after a fan tweeted a picture of them sharing a secret date at the theatre.
