According to Kian, the One Direction lads will struggle to stay together as they don’t have as close a ‘bond.’
He said in an interview: ‘One Direction would be fools to throw it away, absolute fools – and I get the feeling they will.’
‘I watch them and they don’t seem to have this bond as tight as we had in Westlife- especially as they’ve only been together three or four years.’
Westlife were together for 14 years and sold over 50 million records worldwide.
One Direction are back to work recording their new album after a couple of months off following their marathon world tour.
‘It’s human nature to take time off,’ says Kian. ‘They probably needed to do that.’
Kian’s comments come following rumours that Harry Styles is planning on leaving One Direction to forge a solo career.
The Irish singer said: As we always said in Westlife, there’s not one person in a band that’s bigger than the band.’
Kian added: ‘Respect each other and understand that it’s a unit, it’s not a bunch of individuals wanting to do what they want to do.’
