The mother-of-two appeared on the live show on Monday, pitted against notorious bad-mouther Katie Hopkins.
And her composed performance stood out against the screeching insults and personal attacks being thrown around by her fellow commentators.
Speaking about the show, editor of politics magazine The Spectator said:
“The star of the evening for my money was White Dee. She was then, as she is in Benefits Street, calm, articulate and funny – and making more sense than the rest of the guests put together.’’
Meanwhile residents of the most talked about street in Birmingham- James Turner Street, have also praised the matriarch of the street, and expressed their wish for Deirdre to become their local MP.
Kirsty Taylor, 20, said: “I would love White Dee to be our local MP.
“She is the voice of the street and was great on Channel 5.
"She came across so well compared to others in the programme.
“She listens to the people and would be able to sort out all of our problems.”
One of Kirsty’s neighbours, self-employed beauty therapist Anna Korzen, 28, said:
“I watched the show last night and was very impressed with the way White Dee stuck up for the street.”
A pal said: “She’d love to be an MP because she has strong views on politics.”
Dee has previously admitted she would prefer to be working, explaining:
“I have a good day, I have three bad days and then I have two good days. What sort of employer would I ring up and say: ‘Sorry I can’t come in for three days, I’m low.’’
