As singing competitions go, The Voice UK is one of our faves - and last night we all tuned in to the live quarter finals as they got under way, but minus two of the contestants that we were expecting to see.

Why? Both Beth Morris and Chloe Castro were both unfortunately forced to withdraw from the competition due to completely unrelated reasons relating to their health and personal lives.

As reported by the Mail Online, a spokesperson for the show announced the sad news: "Two contestants have left The Voice and will not appear on tonight's edition for the remaining live shows. These departures are unrelated. Due to health reasons Chloe has withdrawn from the competition. We wish her all the best".

Chloe Castro also commented on her exit from the show, saying: "I have decided to leave The Voice for health reasons. I have had a fantastic time and wish all the other contestants all the best in the competiton".

Beth also commented on her own departure, saying that her experience on the show had been "the best of my life" - she also added "The production team and contestants have all been incredible and I have loved performing on the show. Paloma has also been a great support".

Her mentor and judge on the show wrote "Very sad that @lunalepage Beth won't be performing on @BBCTheVoiceUK from now on. What a talent I love you Beth! Missing you already xxx".

We wish them both well and the best of luck for the future!
