Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya has gone from strength to strength. She won BBC One’s cooking show, baked the Queen’s birthday cake and has her own cook book but this week on Loose Women she was suprised when her husband Abdal proposed to her.
The baker and her husband have been married for 11 years but they decided to renew their vows. Nadiya told The Sun: “We’re married Islamically but we’ve never done the proper vows here.
“So we’re talking about making it all ‘official’. It’s a great excuse for a party.”
On Loose Women Nadiya explains that she will eventually get married again and on her wedding day she will make a speech, which she has already written.
She then read out her speech to the panel: “You’re the man who’s become so much more than my friend.
“My best friend, my soulmate, my confidante.
“You are so much more than my husband, you’re the other half of me.
“I am yours and you are mine”.
She then continued: “You go beyond being a father, you are their spirit, their eyes, their voice.
“May we continue to change, may we continue to grow and long may our love flourish.”
After her speech finishes, presenter Kaye Adams surprises Nadiya with her husband on the phone where he officially proposes to her.
And her response was great, she jokingly said: “Maybe I’ll think about it”.
