Tensions seem to be deepening in the latest rumoured feud to rock the Beckhams, with none of the family publicly celebrating eldest son Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola Peltz’s wedding anniversary earlier this month.
As Closer revealed last week, 22-year-old Romeo’s relationship with new girlfriend Kim Turnbull, 24, is said to be a bone of contention between him and Brooklyn, 26 – who, along with Nicola, 30, is questioning DJ Kim’s intentions after supposedly having a past ‘romantic connection’ with Brooklyn (which youngest brother Cruz, 20, rubbished online).
But a source tells Closer that mum Victoria, 50, is worried the rift between her sons will extend to her and husband David, 49, and she can’t bear not speaking to her firstborn.
The insider says, ‘Vic’s devastated by the feud and is at a complete loss over how to fix things between the boys.
‘When they were young, she could mediate between spats and things would blow over quickly. But the boys naturally aren’t as close as they were, given they only see each other a handful of times a year.'
The source adds, ‘Brooklyn’s distancing himself and it’s as if he’s creating this wall around him and Nicola and insisting he doesn’t need his family in order to be happy.
'What’s hurting Vic the most is that she always had the closest bond with Brooklyn and now they’re barely speaking. He’s refusing to discuss the situation and they’re hardly communicating at all.’
The insider also reveals that Brooklyn and Nicola are yet to RSVP to David’s 50th birthday celebrations next month, insisting it will be a ‘last-minute decision’ due to their ‘hectic schedules’.
‘It’s incredibly hurtful for Victoria and she feels like she’s losing her son,’ the source continues. ‘She fears the brothers will end up being completely estranged, tearing their whole family apart.’
