The drama surrounding Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz’s “sh*t show” nuptials continued to heighten last week as fresh details of the bitter lawsuit between Nicola’s father and their wedding planners emerged.
In a fresh twist to the bitter legal battle, new documents claim “bully billionaire” Nelson Peltz, 80, goaded event planners Nicole Braghin and Arianna Grijalba – asking one of them, “Are you crying?”, something he has not yet confirmed or denied.
And as the bombshells from the case continued to hit the headlines, insiders say Brooklyn’s mum Victoria – aka Posh – is concerned about the wider ramifications this could create amid rising tensions within the family.
A source says, “Vic’s been speaking to Brooklyn almost daily. Nicola and her family are understandably incredibly stressed, upset and embarrassed by how this has all exploded so publicly.
“There are a lot of claims that have apparently created tension between Nicola’s parents, including what they allegedly tried to hide from each other. Posh is now not only worried about the case itself, but how the whole scandal could affect Brooklyn’s relationship with Nicola. The last thing she would ever want for him would be to go through the agony of a split or even a divorce. She knows they’re a strong couple, so she’s just hoping they can weather the storm. Her head is spinning right now, she’s always looking out for Brooklyn and trying to protect him, she’s had sleepless nights she’s been worrying so much.
“Nicola and Brooklyn are still supposed to be in the honeymoon phase of their marriage, so to think of this creating rows and bitterness between them is heartbreaking for Victoria and she’s concerned the case could spoil their happiness.”
Nelson is suing the duo of Plan Design Events – who he fired just six weeks before the star-studded nuptials due to a string of alleged mistakes – in an attempt to get back his £132k deposit.
The planners launched an explosive counter claim in their own efforts for damages against the tycoon, which included a string of shocking claims such as how actress and model, Nicola, 28, spent a whopping £85k on her glam squad.
Nicola’s mother, Claudia, 67, allegedly begged them not to tell her husband amid fears Nelson would “kill her”, and was desperate to keep 23-year-old Brooklyn’s parents, David, 47, and Victoria, 48, in the dark about the chaos ensuing behind the scenes.
In a series of damaging claims, the party planners were rumoured to be working 17-hour days to fulfil the 28-year-old bride-to-be’s excessive demands, which allegedly included an all-pink lounge with orb lighting for the after-party and complaints the flowers “weren’t white enough”.
In the hundreds of damning WhatsApp messages and texts submitted for evidence, there are numerous messages too from Brooklyn, 23, including an “embarrassing” suggestion for a “Brooklyn and Nicola burger” – one wrapped in lettuce for the female guests.
The former Spice Girl found herself dragged into the chaos last September when Nicola claimed Posh “blanked her for days” after she asked her to design her wedding dress, sparking a feud between the two women. And although the pair have reportedly made up, Posh is now alarmed at the latest episode and is determined to protect Brand Beckham – which she formed with her footballer husband David when they married in 1999.
The source adds, “Vic’s naturally a worrier, and learning about the drama this is creating inside the Peltz family is sending her into a tailspin – telling David they could be destroyed if more embarrassing details emerge.
“She’s also incredibly anxious about resentment building up between Nicola and Brooklyn and the upset of their ‘dream day’ spoiling their marriage.
“David’s urged her not to get carried away and has assured her that they are both solid couples with strong relationships, who won’t be torn apart by a squabble over money.
“Victoria’s trying to remain as calm as she can and keep her head down as she doesn’t want to be dragged into any of this toxicity.
“Her main focus right now is ensuring Brooklyn is OK and keeping their family unit as tight and unified as ever.”
