Posh feels ‘pushed aside’

It’s just two months until their big day, and last week Brooklyn Beckham revealed that he and fiancée Nicola Peltz are in “full wedding prep mode”.

Whipping up a romantic heart-shaped pizza alongside his future bride, the budding chef, 22, spilled new details about their reported multi-million dollar bash.

“It’s a lot of fun,” he confessed, after Nicola, 27, revealed the pair are deciding between an espresso, lychee or elderflower martini as their signature drink for the celebration.

“It’s strange because the more wedding meetings we have, the more real it feels. I’m excited. I’m gonna be married in two months!”

The eldest son of Victoria, 47, and David, 46, also confirmed they will have a traditional Jewish wedding to honour Nicola’s religion, and that he will wear a yarmulke – the head covering worn by Jewish men.

But as the couple finalise plans for their big day – reportedly set to take place at Nicola’s billionaire father Nelson Peltz’s £76 million Florida mansion – insiders say his mum is feeling pushed aside.

A source says, “Vic thought she’d be far more involved in all the plans than she has been and while she understands there’s a physical distance with Brooklyn and Nicola living in LA and her being in the UK, she can’t help but feel like she’s been left out of a lot of the details which she’d longed to be an integral part of.”

Posh and Nicola have a close relationship, and when the happy couple announced their engagement in July 2020, the American model wore a Victoria Beckham frock. Insiders also revealed how Nicola had asked the fashion mogul to design her wedding dress, amid reports Victoria and David were hoping to host the lavish star-studded bash at their Cotswold estate.

But the couple made the decision to wed Stateside, and pals say Posh – also mum to sons Romeo, 19, Cruz, 16, and 10-year-old daughter Harper – hasn’t been as in the loop as she had hoped.

The source says, “Nicola asked another designer to create her bridesmaids’ dresses, because she felt it would be logistically too difficult with fittings needing to be done in the US.

“While Vic understood, she was further stung when she found out there were some other details she hadn’t been privy to, such as the menu and the order of service. She and David also weren’t able to have as much input into the guest list as they would have liked, which ruffled her feathers.”

Victoria and Brooklyn have always had a strong relationship, with Posh being notoriously protective over her eldest son. When Brooklyn and Nicola sparked pregnancy rumours last year, insiders told Closer that she was even contemplating moving back to LA following the family’s six-year stint there from 2007 to 2013, so she could be a hands-on grandmother.

Now, ahead of the big day, David is said to be urging the former Spice Girl to keep focusing on the excitement around the celebration.

“While David understands why Vic is feeling bruised, he’s encouraged her not to get wrapped up in all the little details that could taint such a special day for them,” says the source. “Vic is extremely excited and can’t wait to

watch Brooklyn walk down the aisle. She knows that ultimately, what’s most important is celebrating their first-born getting married together as a family.”
