Victoria Beckham and husband David looked every inch the doting mum and dad as they were accompanied by three of their children – Romeo, 20, Cruz, 17, and Harper, 11 – to the Miami wedding of Marc Anthony and Nadia Ferreira last weekend.
However, just days later, the Beckhams made headlines once again when reports emerged that their eldest son, Brooklyn, 23, and his wife Nicola Peltz-Beckham, 28 – who were noticeably absent amidst Nicola’s ongoing feud with Victoria – had been through three wedding planners in the lead-up to their extravagant nuptials in Palm Beach last May.
Text messages, allegedly sent from Nicola, who is also said to have fallen out with Victoria at the time, show her scathing remarks about being “tired” of their mistakes. Nicola’s father, billionaire Nelson Peltz, also referred to his daughter as a “world-famous actress” – leading one Beckham fan to label her a “world- famous diva”.
On top of the speculation over their wedding demands, Brooklyn has also faced ridicule from some of his 14.8 million Instagram followers, for sharing his home-cooked recipes as a budding chef.
“You aren’t a chef, you’re a cook. Watching you just chop vegetables shows that very clearly,” one critic wrote, while another blasted, “Get in the real world, Beckham” after he revealed there was “no such thing as too much truffle” – an expensive delicacy.
Now a source reveals how Victoria, 48, feels she has to do what she can to help them.
The insider says, “Vic is getting increasingly worried about the public’s view of Brooklyn and Nicola. She’s concerned Brooklyn is going to become a laughing stock and really wants to give him guidance when it comes to his career.
“She’s given Brooklyn a gentle reminder to be his own man, and never forget that he’s a Beckham – especially after Nicola has been facing scrutiny for being a bridezilla.”
The insider says that mum-of-four Victoria – who has been in the limelight alongside husband David for over 25 years – has been in tears over the negative comments about her son and daughter-in-law.
They add, “She’s been calling her son after getting advice from pal Gordon Ramsay on how Brooklyn can really step up his chef game – and it isn’t just him making fish and chips.
“It’s come at a good time as Nicola has been preoccupied with her own career, so Brooklyn and Victoria have been talking a lot more. At the end of the day, Vic thinks Brooklyn really needs her help and she’s not going to just let him make a fool of himself.”
