Her feud with fellow fashion mogul, Stella McCartney, was allegedly reignited last week amid a “tug-of-war” over supermodel sisters, Bella and Gigi Hadid.
Victoria Beckham’s style rival Stella was reported to have ramped-up competition with the mum-of-four, 48, by hiring the superstar siblings to model for her latest line after they appeared in the former Spice Girl’s first Paris Fashion week show in September.
An insider revealed that while Stella, 51, isn’t normally bothered about hiring big name models, she booked the sisters after seeing them walk for Posh.
And while she is said to be “less than happy” about Stella’s latest move, Posh has been left wondering if daughter-in-law, Nicola Peltz, 28, may have played a part in the Hadids’ switch to her rival.
American model Nicola – who’s reportedly fallen out with her mother-in-law since marrying Brooklyn Beckham, 23, last April – dated Bella and Gigi’s younger brother, Anwar, 23, for over a year and remained close to the sisters after their split in 2018.
The source says, “Victoria can’t help but wonder if this has all come from Nicola in some sort of revenge move. Nicola knew what a big deal it was for Vic to secure two of the biggest names in the industry, and, given the current tension between them, Vic wonders if she encouraged the Hadids to work with her direct competition.”
Posh was said to have initially sparked a feud with Stella in 2020 after hiring her nanny before trying to poach her
head of studio.
Stella’s feathers were said to have been further ruffled after one of her top stylists, Jane How, jumped ship to Victoria’s brand – the third person to move from Stella to team Posh.
Meanwhile, tensions have reportedly remained high between Posh and Nicola – with the designer noticeably leaving the billionairess out of her gushing Instagram tributes recently about missing Brooklyn over the festive period. The two are believed to have originally fallen out in a spat over Posh designing a dress for Nicola’s wedding to Brooklyn.
But pals say Victoria’s husband, David, 47, has urged his wife not to jump to conclusions and instead speak to Nicola directly.
The source adds, “Vic admitted her head was just spinning and agreed to speak to Nicola to clear the air and put her mind at rest that she had any involvement, knowing how upset both she and Brooklyn could be by those accusations.”
Last week, it was also revealed that while her fashion house continues to make a loss, those losses have halved over the last year as her sales gradually climb.
The source adds, “Vic has worked so hard to grow her brand and make it a huge success, so naturally any inkling of someone trying to knock that progress makes her panic.
“But she welcomes healthy competition and insists that if Stella wants to copy any of her moves, she’ll take it as a sign of flattery.”
