‘Lonely’ Victoria Beckham considers drastic measures as David leaves her behind

With husband David about to set up home thousands of miles away for the launch of his Miami soccer team, Posh is thought to be struggling with the idea of how she'll cope without him

She spent the night at her parents’ Essex home last week – giving fans a nostalgic tour of her childhood bedroom on social media while her husband David was thousands of miles away watching the Super Bowl in Miami, and their eldest son, Brooklyn, 20, was in LA.

Pals have revealed that Posh – who also shares Romeo, 17, Cruz, 14, and, Harper, eight, with David – feels uneasy staying at either their £31m West London pad or their £6m Cotswolds home, which has been the target of two attempted break-ins, without David, 44.

And with his upcoming move to Florida next month for the debut of his long-awaited MLS football team, Inter Miami – for an indefinite period – Posh, 45, is reckoned to be dreading being left alone with the couple’s youngest children.

A source says, “Vic hates being in those big houses alone – especially when the boys are out with friends and it’s just her and Harper. She often feels as if she’s rattling around the huge rooms on her own, when she was always used to a busy, bustling house full of noisy kids and laughter.

“It’s incredibly lonely for her going from a family of six to sometimes just the two of them. Romeo and Cruz are growing up and want to hang out with their mates, or are at sports practice and don’t need her in the same way any more. And even when the younger boys are around, she doesn’t feel as protected as she does when David or Brooklyn are there – hence why she went to her mum and dad’s house, where she feels safe and has some company.

“David understands her fears and has insisted he’ll do whatever it takes to make her feel more comfortable – upping security and suggesting having her parents or her sister pop over while he’s away, which are options she’s willing to explore. She’s even wondering whether she could move in with her parents if things get tough, but even though it’s something she’d be prepared to do, she knows it’s not a realistic option to uproot the kids. David’s move has been a long time coming, but it’s starting to sink in and it’s bringing up lots of difficult emotions for her – she’ll really miss him.”

Last week, Posh broke her usual protocol by being snapped looking bleary-eyed as she left the Vogue BAFTAs party after mingling with a host of Hollywood A-listers, including Scarlett Johansson, Charlize Theron and Margot Robbie.

And pals say the former Spice Girl enjoyed a few glasses to distract herself from her loneliness as she made moves to expand her social circle beyond her small clique, which includes Eva Longoria and Tana Ramsay, who gave birth to her fifth child, Oscar, last year.

In 2017, Posh said, “I don’t have a lot of friends, but I’m surrounded by people I genuinely like to be with.”

When Geri wore THAT iconic dress

Geri's Union Jack dress has become synonymous with the Spice Girls and girl power in general. The dress came to be at the 1997 BRIT Awards because Geri didn't want to wear the black Gucci dress her stylist had given her...so she glued a Union Jack tea towel to the front of it. She later sold it at auction for £40,000.

When four of the band announced a 2019 reunion... and Posh showed her support

When four of the band announced a 2019 reunion, Posh still showed her support. Victoria took to Instagram to support her former bandmates. She said, "Today marks a special day for the girls as they announce the first tour dates since we performed together in 2012! I won't be joining my girls on stage again but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish them so much love and fun as they go back on tour next year. I know they will put on an amazing show and the fantastic fans past and present are going to have a wonderful time! "

The source says, “Vic’s dedicated her life to her family and work, meaning she hasn’t had a lot of time for friends, which is why she’s always kept her group small. It’s hard for her to trust others, as lots of people she encounters either don’t know how to speak to her like a normal person or want something from her.

“She has to keep a tight-knit group to protect herself, but the price she’s paid is that it can be isolating and lonely, especially when David is away. She didn’t see the harm in letting her hair down at the Vogue party and easing her nerves with a drink – it also gave her more confidence to chat to people she didn’t know that well.

“With David’s upcoming move, Eva living in LA, and Tana being busy with her new baby, she’s starting to realise that unless she makes an effort to make more friends, she could be even more lonely.”

Insiders say the designer is also hoping that expanding her friendship group with Hollywood’s elite will help her struggling fashion label, which has failed to make a profit since its launch 12 years ago.

The source adds, “Vic went out of her way to mingle with stars at the bash – socialising with Margot and Scarlett, possibly with a mind to boosting her brand.

“She’d love to have a big name endorse her line and

has already offered to send them some of her collection, so she’s hoping it can be a win-win situation for her.”
