She’s famously known for suffering in the name of style, but Victoria Beckham took her love for heels to a new level while out and about at Paris Fashion Week. The Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer looked like she was in pain as she struggled to walk in pointy white stilettos after she left her runway show with husband David Beckham, daughter Harper and sons Romeo and Cruz.
‘She can’t even walk in those shoes!’ one Instagram user said, as another added, ‘Why you walking like that, shoes too narrow [for] your feet?’
And a source tells Closer of the lengths Posh goes to to put on a confident front in public and hide her agony. ‘Victoria couldn’t cover the discomfort as shown by the exaggerated walk she choreographed in an attempt to style out her discomfort,’ they say. ‘She sometimes carries anti-inflammatory meds in her bag as some days can be excruciating for her.’
Years of wearing heels have taken a toll on Posh, 50, who has previously been advised to have surgery to remove her bunions. A foot injury during a workout last year has also left her in further pain. ‘Fell over in the gym!’ she said on Instagram, sharing a pic of her foot with an ice-pack on it. David, 49, added, ‘Apparently my wife’s little accident in the gym was a clean break.’
‘Victoria jokes with friends about how, since she hit 50, everything creaks and hurts, and she needs an MOT,’ the insider reveals.
Despite her agony, however, our source reveals Posh has no plans to give up her favourite shoes any time soon. ‘Victoria will be the first to admit she is a slave to fashion and that is a badge of honour she wears, despite it leaving her in pain,’ they say.
