In true Beckham style, Victoria Beckham will go all-out to mark her special 50th birthday this week. But along with the big celebration with family and friends, sources tell us that the fashion designer is also planning to enjoy some quality one-on-one time with husband David.
“Vic’s real gift to herself is having some alone time with David for her birthday, as well as having a show-stopping party with her pals,” a source close to the star tells us.
“Vic has told him that the best gift he could give her is his time.
“They’re both so busy in their careers – and when they’re not working, they’re juggling their family life at home. Vic has told David that all she wants to do is feel like they’ve both been able to magically stop time and run off together for a little romantic mini break where they can reconnect and go back to that special feeling they had when they first fell in love with one another.
“She’s still madly in love with him like a teenager and loves the fact that they both still fancy one another,” the source continues.
“They’ve been planning a trip away for a few weeks now but want to keep it all under wraps as they desperately want some privacy, but Vic has let slip to a few friends that she’s had some dream destinations in mind, including where they went after they got married.”
Victoria and David, 48, wed in Ireland 25 years ago, on 4 July 1999, and honeymooned at Andrew Lloyd Webber’s villa in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, on the French Riviera.
“Vic has been dreaming of them going back there, just the two of them to relive the magic of that time together,” the insider reveals.
“It's no secret that they've been through some ups and downs in their marriage, but Vic feels as though they're stronger than ever now and still madly in love and she wants to celebrate that.”
They add, “She's realised that the biggest gift she could give herself for this milestone birthday is to be with the man that she loves. She's going to have a big party for all her friends and family, but she also wants this one-on-one moment with David as they rarely get to do that – and her 50th birthday is the perfect time.”
