Closer caught up with JJ Hamblett, Jaymi Hensley, Josh Cuthbert and George Shelley, from the band when they went busking around the sunny capital to raise money for the British Legion Poppy Appeal.

The boy-band, who took fourth place in the last place in the last series of ITV’s the X-Factor, sent fans into a frenzy when they sang Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe’ – one of the songs they performed on the X-Factor live shows last year – as well as their brand new tune.

The new single ‘Carry You,’ which the band are releasing this week, has already shot to the top five on the iTunes chart.

‘We’re so excited, it’s amazing!’

When we managed to push through the crowds to speak to band member Josh, he said: ‘we’re so excited, it’s amazing!’

The boys’ quickly growing fan-base of screaming girls means they are often likened to their X-Factor predecessors One Direction.

Speaking to a UK newspaper this week, Jaymi revealed that they would much prefer to be compared to recently split boy-band JLS.

He said: ‘We know we get compared to One Direction, which is incredible, but there is a massive gap in the market.

JLS were amazing. They were different but they were still really popular. I think our voices are more similar to theirs.

JLS followed Westlife and Boyzone, everyone had a different voice whereas 1D and The Wanted are different. We fit in the JLS market.’
