It’s safe to say she hasn’t had the best couple of years, and now it’s been claimed Tulisa Contostavlos is to quit the UK in search of new opportunities across the pond.
Following a series of career setbacks and legal matters, the 27-year-old has signed with a major US agency as she attempts to crack Hollywood.
Of her new partnership with the former N-Dubz singer, Maria Santino said: “We are super excited to represent Tulisa and introduce her talents to the American TV and film industry.”
Tulisa’s musical comeback didn’t exactly go to plan, with single Living Without You limping into the charts at 44 at the beginning of 2015.
And in September the former X Factor judge was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, after crashing her £150k Ferrari outside London’s Southgate tube station.
Since then Tulisa has almost completely withdrawn from the public eye, and sources insist she’s working on fixing her image.
An insider told Star magazine: “She has always acted and dreamed of being in films. This is set to be her big break. She has been staying low-key lately as she wants to rebrand herself.”
According to reports Tulisa has dismissed all offers to appear on reality TV shows, including Celebrity Big Brother, and she features on Carnao Beats’ new single Love You for Tonight.
Discussing new music recently, the Camden-born singer said: “I’m not even working on an album. I’ve decided to stick to singles. When I’m at the point musically where I feel like I’ve got back up to where I want to be and prove myself, then I feel like I’ll start focusing on an album.”
