TOWIE’s Danielle Armstrong and James Lock had fans hopeful that they had managed to work out their issues at the end of the last series after they went on a string of dates.
But the reality star has now quashed rumours that they are officially an item again.
Speaking to the Mail Online, Danielle said: “The last series we did end up going on a few dates, but I think we’re both very scared and we just want to take things slow. If we don’t get back together, we know we will be good friends.
“To be honest I think me and him prove that exes can actually get on and be friends - we are still very much fond of each other.”
She also revealed that she felt more pressure dating onscreen as part of TOWIE rather than in a more private sphere.
Danielle explained: “It’s strange but after a while you get used to it… I can’t say why it is hard, but there is a lot of pressure. I think it’s hard to be in a relationship in this generation thanks to things like social media.
“I don’t think it’s any different from being off the TV, maybe a little added pressure. It’s just very hard to stick to one relationship in today’s society.”
Danielle and James dated for several years before calling it quits earlier this year. They survived a heartbreaking miscarriage as well as rumours of infidelity before they finally went their separate ways.
